Claudia De Grandi is an artist from Sao Paulo. Of Brazilian and Italian heritage, Claudia studied for her Masters at the University of the Arts, London, in Transnational Art. Claudia now lives and works in East Sussex, UK, although her raison d’etre and passion is global travel and experiencing different cultures. This provides the on-going context for her art.
Recently Claudia exhibited her site-specific series of paintings, Sakura Zensen, at a residency in Kyoto, Japan. Included here also was her collaboration with American musician Joshua Tennent, ‘Visual Sounds Project.’ It is the fulfilment of her vision to bring visual art and music together in one space.
Her works are exhibited and collected in the UK, Japan, Brazil and Europe.
In 2015 her painting Kyoto Season was awarded the Painter’s Prize at the East and West Award competition, Pall Mall, London.
